Big update on the 547 Battalion is reunion September 14-18, 2017. For those who remember we were part of that unit, in Kelly Barracks Darmstadt, late 1960’s thru 1970’s. Of course other years are sure welcome too.
It will be a four-day cruise from Mobile AL to Cozumel Mexico. We are getting some special military deals and the cabins are $289/pp interior and $339/pp outside with a window. To sign up for this fabulous cruise contact Carnival Cruise lines. Michelle Cartwright, 1-800-819-3902 ext. 82376 , mcartwright@carnival.com , Mention 547th Engineers or use group #3VJQX1. I am sure it will be a great time for all!

Hey 567 Engineers. The 547 Battalion is having a reunion September 2017. For those who remember we were part of that unit, in Kelly Barracks Darmstadt, late 1960’s thru 1970’s.
It will be a four-day cruise from Mobile AL to Cozumel Mexico. We will spend one day grouping up at a local hotel in Mobile, then on to the ship en mass. We are getting some special military deals and the cabins are $289/pp interior and $339/pp outside with a window. I am getting more information as times goes on, but if you are at least interested please send me your contact information and I can forward all news to you.
Thanks, (Capt) Jay Popiel: popiels@comcast.net

I guess discussing politics is frowned upon on this website.
Can anyone teak me why we served and kept the country safe.
Wasn't free speech one of those reasons.
Very odd in deed

I have not seen a post yet, but there is an All Units reunion at Ft Leonardwood next year. The dates are the 28th-30th of July 2017. Check the 275 FB page for all the information. Hotels are set up and the museum is hosting the formal get together. Let the 275th FB site know if you are going in case they need more hotel rooms

Hey guys. I was with the 567th in Hanau 77-79, then 66th in hood 79-81, then 275th in coffee barracks. Does any one remember me? They used to call me the Flying Hawaiian. Some of my best memories was 12E.

Larry Fukalek Sunday, July 10, 2016 04:00 PM
Name sounds familiar. I was in the 275th from Apr 1983 to March 1985. Was in charge of trainer maintenance & from the end of 1984 to 1985 when I retired was also was Co. Courier & Mail Clerk.

Francis Napoleon Wednesday, July 13, 2016 08:37 PM
Your name rings a bell too. Was looking up our unit crest to put on a hat and found this web site. I think I recognize Sgt Webb. I think i left in 83 but don't remember what month. Anyway, thanks for responding. I was going through a bad break-up with my wife then and went off the deep end. I found my way back to sanity and doing well now. I read you guys may be getting together next year and sounds like fun.

Gary Donald Saturday, July 16, 2016 06:12 PM
I remember you Frank. I was there the same time as you were, but did not leave until 1980.

(1523) Hoping the summer will be good to all. Another photo of the sky here, which gives great light shows every week.

Hoping the Cold War will end for everyone sometime. For 12E's that war really hit home, it's basically all about you, not Nixon or Eisenhower. Every time you left the motor pool the button got pushed. I've spoken to Navy people who were simply unbelieving of what ADM was. But it's true, you saw the Cold War up front and in the mud like no others.

That legacy ends with you, there will be no more like you. For the world the Cold War is over. For some individually, maybe not but hoping that memory dies peacefully.

In reference to the photo of the 23rd Engr ADM platoon. The cent sqd leader with the glasses is Eddie Denney, I am on his right. The SSG on Denney's left is SSG MaCullum. He and Scragg's were my senior tech's.

Ric: Wondered where you went after Fort Belvoir. We ran many a 10k around the area and the occasional 20k in Annapolis.

Saw pictures of the ol' Fifth and Seventh Platoons. We are getting old. Frank W. Raymond, Jr.

I wanted to say "Thank you" to all that responded to my earlier post.
I am aware of how SFC Schellert passed. I am trying to find out about the person himself. What was he like? Was he a no nonsense type of person? A laid back individual, caring, concerned, etc.. Any information on the person himself would be great.

Terry Spears front middle, can't miss the "birth control" glasses?

Jim Cauthron Monday, May 9, 2016 07:51 PM
Chuck I hate to disagree with you but that can't be Spears because he was an E7 in Darmstadt prior to the company forming in Hanau.

chuck Tuesday, May 10, 2016 07:48 AM
I thought of that after I posted but U have to admit it looks like him. As my Dad once said "don't get old"!

Bill Coberly Thursday, October 6, 2016 09:47 PM
My name is Bill Coberly, I was with the 23rd Eng Adm from 1973 until 1975, We did move across the street with the 567th but I was only there a few months before I left the Army. A few guys I remember were Gary Slusher, Brad Mustain, Frank Nestor(also from Colorado), Dave Griswold. Lieutenant Hledik was the platoon leader.
