Just found this web site about a month ago. Was doing a google search for (ADM) and this site came up. Pretty neat. About time somebody did something like this. Any way, I was in Hanau 81-85. Was interested in knowing what kind of response your getting for the Reunion.

Peter Tuesday, September 2, 2003 04:55 PM
Buzz,
My goal was to have 100 people show enthusiasm for a reunion before I made solid plans. I have 96 definite "maybe's" right now, so I have made the plans. I have mailed out info to all 96 people, so now we will see who is serious....

Rass Wednesday, December 24, 2003 01:58 PM
Buzz I remember the times in 2nd Platoon. I took over 2nd Platoon from SFC Thomas. I do remember your car accident and the broken leg. Take Care of yourself and hope to see you this summer in Vegas.

This is unreal!! I Think it would be great to to get togeather with all the folks from the great 567th Engineer Company (ADM) "PROUD AND READY". I'm sitting here at my home with Bob Marshall and his family hanging out for the weekend. For all those who knew Charlie Purvis I wanted to let you know that he had passed away about 8 or 9 years ago of cancer. He lived in Alvin Texas and worked at the Prison as one of the head honcho's doing what he did best, yelling at people!! If things go right we will see ya'll in Vegas

Spent 16 months at Ft. Hood in the 66th before the 567th. After Ft. Hood, I arrived at the 567th in May 1978, and stayed until Aug 1979.

Worked for Sgt. Marshall for a while, and then the best in the world, Sgt. Purvis. Had some great times. I remember Larry Dinell, Rick Christianson, Ronnie Gibson, Bruce Batty, and a lot of others. Actually, I went through basic with Rick C. at Ft. Leonardwood in the fall of '76.

Anyway, best regards to all. Reunion in Vegas sounds good.

I know the old 317th ADM Platoon from Camp Eschborn became the 7th Plt. of the 567th.; but where did all of the other platoons come from and what were their old units ?
When I arrived in April '75 the "old timers" were still wearing their old unit pocket patches; those, and the O.D. tee shirts were done away with...

Prosit !

Was that the same 2nd plt.(Dutch Treat) that seemed to disappear whenever we had an inspection? Man, you guys had it made! I would have loved to have been in the 2nd,but I was stuck in the 6th supporting the 8TH ID.

I was in Hanau from May 76 to Dec.78.It's good to see lots of names that I remember, and a few I don't. I can't remember the name of TOP, but I remember him always marching through the mud puddle at morning formation instead of around it.Those were some wild times back then. I have lots of pics if I can ever get the scanner to work again.I hope we can all get together in Los Vegas.Keep pluging Pete. Later,Scott

I was RA from 21Sep74 to 19Sep77. I trained as a combat engineer at Ft. Leonard Wood and was invited to Ft. Belvoir for ADM training. I shipped to FRG at the end of Feb. 1975.

My Army regular duty career was with the 7th Platoon of the 567th Engineer Co., in Hanau, FRG., at good ol' Francois Kaserne, right across Lamboy Strasse and across from the famous "Oliver's". Geez, all those Binders!

My Army service and the curious way of life in and around Francois Kaserne has helped make me the man I am. Go figure.

Still, I've always thought that "everything works out in the end."

Kathy and I have been married for 17 great years, we have a wonderful (mostly) seven-year-old boy named Eric, a ridicalus Golden Retriever named Lovely Rita (I still like the Beatles), a hamster and gecko.

We live in a log home west of Kansas City, MO., and, since it's one of the highest points in the county, we have tactical advantage.

I joke about my Cold War duty helping to keep the "Vicious Red Horde" out of Normandy. We succeeded, but sometimes I wonder if the effort is appreciated.

Given recent events, I am proud to have served my country and wish the best for everyone serving now.

Sure was great to read your note. I was looking through some old stuff the other day and found the post card you sent me from the Swiss Alps back in June 1977. Glad to hear life is treating you good. I"m sure that there is a book with the names of the service men and women who served during the "Cold War" and when it comes time we will get our due.
Take care and keep in touch.
Mean Gene,

Chuck, I'm not sure but I think we were in the same platoon. If I'm right, aren't you part Asian decent, about 6'1" and at the time your family lived on a ranch in Monatana or something like that. The reason I remember you (I think) is you came into a room where myself and some other guys whose names I don't remember were playing spades, drinking and smoking hash. (you didn't smoke) but I say all this because you ended up in a wrestling match on a bet with a guy named "Hammer" who I think was from New York. You won :) My name is Dave White.

Dean Sunday, March 21, 2004 12:01 PM
Chuck I believe that Lt. Royce Kincaid was the Blond headed guy from west point. If I'm right I saw him in 1980 at Ft. Lenardwood while I was in the reserves and he said his 6 years was up and he was going to get out. Maybe we were a little hard on him.

some more ADM units
8th at Dexheim
547th in Darmstadt
529th in Darmstadt
9th in A'burg
54th in Wildflecken
317th in Frankfurt
But the original ADM company was the 529th ADM co (provisional) which became the 567th ADM co. With Capt Bob Keenan(sic) as the Commander. There's a lot of ADM folks out there and I wish I could remember more of them but age is catching up to me.

Anyone know of any other ADM units other than the following?
66th-Ft. Hood
62nd-Italy
275th-Ludwigsburg
567th-Hanau
24th USAFAD- Landsberg am Lech
I know that way before my time that most engineer battalions had ADM trained people (317th,168th).
Anybody know anything more?

Charlie McGurk Wednesday, October 29, 2003 04:53 PM
Hey Rick, I started at Fort Belvoir with SSG Badger, and Mark Hicks, and a few others back in 1975, ended in 32nd USAFAD in Neinburg in 1986 with quite a few old names like Moffit, Cote,, Dugan, and others!

Richard,

You are right. There where other units prior to combining them into general support companies. I was in the 121st Engr Co. then HQ 4th Missle Command in Camp Page Korea from 1972-1974, 15th Engr Bn in the 9th Div Fort Lewis from 1975-1977. Korea was the best keep secret the Army had. Most of the people in Korea where drafted but a few stayed in. Some I remember are Jack Miller, John Lynch and Tom Heyl. They may have spent time in the 66th. People from the 15th Engr Bn where Robert Brown, Robert Nunn, Donald Lenard, Peter Colbath, Jose Mendez. Some 275th personnel where Raymond Jeffus, Harry Dugan, Michael Corbett, Donald Ruyon,Theodore Hall, Thomas Leek, Robert Ruff. Platoon's working more or less attached to a unit was really much better then when they formed companies of 12E. No one messed with us and all the support was given to us without question. We never had the ash and trash details that where required of us when formed into companies.

Mike Brubaker Wednesday, March 16, 2011 12:03 AM
I was with the 23 engineer battalion in 1971 and 1972. I was in the ADM platoon. We were in the hessen homberg kaserne in Hanau.
